Step-by-Step Guide: Installing Acrobat Pro via Creative Cloud on Windows 11
This guide assumes:
You’re on a Windows 11 machine.
Creative Cloud Desktop App is already installed. (For ECBOCES staff and ECBOCES tech supported schools, this should already be on your computer. Other districts will need to have their tech support person assist with the installation.)
Users will log in using ECBOCES credentials—a company or school account.
The goal is to install Acrobat Pro.
1. Launch Creative Cloud Desktop App
Click the Start menu (Windows icon) and search for Adobe Creative Cloud, then open it.
If not logged in, you’ll be prompted to sign in.
2. Sign in with ECBOCES Credentials
Select Company or School Account if prompted. Do not worry if you are setting up a personal account - once you log in, it should connect you to our account.
Enter your ECBOCES email and password to sign in. (This is the same login you use for the ECBOCES website).
This ensures you access your enterprise‑licensed apps under ECBOCES.
3. Navigate to the Apps Section
After signing in, click Apps (usually on the left sidebar).
You’ll see various Adobe apps available under your subscription.
4. Find Acrobat DC and Install
Scroll through the list until you find Acrobat. This is the app—regardless of whether your license is Pro or Standard.
Click Install next to Acrobat.
The screenshot below shows exactly where this option appears.
5. Installation Process
After clicking Install, Creative Cloud will download and begin installing Acrobat DC.
Once installed, the button changes to Open, indicating success.
6. Launch and Verify Pro Features
Click Open to launch Acrobat.
Sign in again if prompted. Your ECBOCES license should enable Pro features automatically.
To confirm, check for tools exclusive to Pro, like advanced PDF editing, redaction, or OCR.
7. (Optional) Set Acrobat as Default PDF Application
Open Settings → Apps → Default Apps.
Under “Choose defaults by file type,” find .pdf.
Select Adobe Acrobat as the default app for PDF files.
This ensures PDFs open with Acrobat Pro directly .
